15th February 1812: John Slaney committed to Nottingham Gaol

On Friday 15th February, John Slaney, a framework-knitter from Basford was committed to Nottingham Gaol. He was charged with having attempted to incite 2 soldiers from the Royal Berkshire Militia to break frames in Basford on the 27th January.

As reported in the Derby Mercury of the 5th March 1812.
